PI's: Giving Back to the Community

Private investigations is not always about the money, the bottom line. There are several ways that you can become more involved in your community.

Here are a few ideas:
  • Follow-Up Calls - Call your clients back a few weeks after the conclusion of a case to see if they are doing ok.
  • Community Service - Make a point to participate in a community service event each year. Help with community food banks, neighborhood clean-ups, and school events.
  • Sponsoring Community Education Events - Consider sponsoring snacks, refreshments for neighborhood watch meetings, and other community programs offered by local police departments. Local police will appreciate it as well as those in attendance.
  • Pro Bono Cases - There are those times when someone needs investigative help but just can't afford it. Maybe you can provide pro bono services when there is a demonstrated need. It will help motivate you and your employees by helping another in need.

All of these tips have a common theme - Showing concern for others. Chances are you could do all of these things and never receive one case, but what a great way to help others.
